Why Your Business Needs a Facebook Page
We recently stumbled upon an interesting infographic that helps spell out in plain English why Facebook is good for your business. Some of the major claims include the fact that 87% of people Like brands on Facebook, and that 82% of people claim Facebook is a good place to interact with brands. Some of the biggest motivators behind Liking a brand on Facebook are promotions/discounts (34%) and free giveaways (21%).
You can check out the infographic (posted below this article) yourself for other cool statistics, but we’d like to break down some interesting points the graphic makes. The study delves a little into how effectively companies run their Facebook campaigns, and it gives us some insight as to why some businesses could get non-Likers to follow their brand. One of the main issues as to why someone may not Like your brand on Facebook is simply because you post too often and it clutters your customers’ newsfeed.
So what can we learn from this? Keep a steady schedule as to when you post on your newsfeed. You want to try and keep your content relevant and entertaining, but you don’t want to overburden your followers and scare them off. We all know that the more you post on Facebook, the bigger your reach will get (reach measures the number of people who received impressions of a Page post. The reach number might be less than the impressions number since one person can see multiple impressions). However it’s not worth reaching a larger percentage of your Facebook fans if you end up annoying them to the point where they no longer wish to follow you.
Another thing you may want to do is reach out to your customers and offer them promotional items or hold contests. Above all you want to engage your customers and connect with them on a more personal level. If they have questions or comments, always try and answer them as quickly as possible in order for them to feel like they’ve been heard. If a customer posts a complaint on your Facebook wall, take this as an opportunity to prove to them that you’re willing to do whatever it takes to make sure they’re happy, while the public watches. This will do wonders to add to your credibility and overall brand perception; remember – you can’t always please every customer!
If you have a Facebook page and you’re not sure what to do with it, we hope this article and this infographic help motivate you to get started and to take action. Marketing via Facebook and other social networking tools should be a major part of your business strategy. What better way is there for you to get instant customer feedback on how you’re doing as a company? If you’ve been debating over whether or not you should leverage the power of social media for branding, this study should give you a clear answer – consumers are taking into account a brand’s Facebook presence now more than ever before!
