Catapult is Showing its Tiger Pride by Offering a Scholarship to One LSU Manship Student Each Semester

Over the years, we have worked with many students from LSU, both interns and full-time employees. Each one has helped to mold our agency into what it is today. We especially see many interns who we take under our collective wings. They get experience in writing, communicating with clients, and working with different disciplines in a creative and supportive learning environment. In return, we get fresh, hungry minds willing to bring their ideas to our industry and to our workplace. As our agency began to grow, we realized it was time to support promising students in a new way – a scholarship.

Catapult announces LSU scholarship.The How and Why of It

Starting this fall, our agency will award a $500 scholarship to one promising LSU Manship School of Mass Communication student each semester. We are the first digital marketing agency in the state to offer a scholarship to exemplary LSU Manship students. At Catapult, we believe these students will be the future of advertising, and we want to help support their learning efforts of the advertising industry.

“But why a scholarship?” you might ask. Because we decided it was time to put our money where our mouths were—figuratively anyway. We know students and interns play a vital role in the world of business. They have gumption, drive, and new ideas that could launch our industry to new heights, but only if we support them.

To support students, the best thing we can do is provide internships where they can learn and grow while still in school. Sadly, we don’t have 500 internships available—believe us, we wish we did. So, the next best thing we can do is support them in their educational pursuit financially. We see it as giving to the students who will help us, as an agency, and the industry grow in the advertising sphere.

Our goal in all of this is to give back to LSU, help current students, and create an environment where students know they can work, learn, and grow to their highest potential. A scholarship is simply one piece to a much larger puzzle. Students matter to us—they are the future of our industry. And it’s time we started doing more to help them.

This scholarship is available to upperclassmen (juniors and seniors) LSU Manship students who meet the eligibility requirements. Creative and forward-thinking students interested in pursuing a career in advertising are encouraged to apply. Each semester, we will invite students to apply and answer a prompt. We will then choose the student we believe has the most potential to receive the scholarship. Students can find the application for the scholarship here.

The Future of Catapult and LSU

Over the next months, we look forward to receiving the submissions from Manship’s students. We can’t wait to see their excitement and drive. Our company is built on passion, and we look for that passion in our interns. We will get the chance to not only financially aid their education, but also watch them grow from college kids to powerful men and women in the advertising business.

Our hope is that we can impact students in a positive way and help them to achieve their professional goals and personal dreams. At Catapult, we don’t just launch business to the next level, we launch people to the next level too. We help students gain confidence, drive toward their goals, and eventually exceed them.
